The Miami Beach Big Sweep 09 . A Beach Clean-up Competition Lets Keep Miami's Beaches and our Marine Ecosystem Clean! Sunday, June 14th, 2009 8 am to 12 Noon Want to get involved in helping your local environment and community? T-Shirts to be provided for the first 400 volunteers by the Boucher Brothers! What	Help ECOMB volunteers, the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, US Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the Boucher Brothers, the Surfrider Foundation and many others cleanup the beach section between Government Cut and 15th Street, Miami Beach. This is a FUN BEACH CLEAN-UP COMPETITION between the beach sections mentioned above. There will be TWO VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP STATIONS and ONE END STATION, where all groups will finally meet, lunch served and TROPHIES and RAFFLE PRIZES awarded. It's up to you!!!!! _______________________________________________ STATIONS - Station 1: Volunteer Sign-up* - South Pointe Park X Beach Station 2: Volunteer Sign-up - 15th Street Beach X Ocean Drive Station 3: End Station - Between 7th and 8th Streets X Ocean Drive GRAND FINALE At the end of the event, all collected litter will be removed from the bags and spread out in two areas: one area for cigarette butts and the other for general litter. EXPECT A SURPRISE PHOTO-OP! This will create a powerful photo and educational display for beach goers as to the amount of trash being left on our beaches. The litter will then be re-bagged in trash and/or recycling bags. LET'S KEEP IT CLEAN ... PASS IT ON!
Where	You will be PRE-ASSIGNED to one of the Sign-up Stations, VIA EMAIL, TWO DAYS BEFORE the event date.
Parking	STATION 1: Pier Park (in front of Nikki Beach on Ocean Drive and 1st Street - 20 parking spots will be available - first come first serve) STATION 2: Street parking only or nearby parking lots/garages. PLEASE, CARPOOL IF YOU CAN, SAVE GAS AND HELP OUR PLANET!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Age	Volunteers 15 years old or younger must present the attached Minor Release Form signed by a parent/guardian and one parent/guardian must be present. Volunteers 16 or 17 years old must only present the attached Minor Release Form signed by a parent/guardian. Volunteers 18 years old or older, please sign the Adult Release Form and bring it along with you.
We Provide	Water, some snacks, garbage bags and gloves for the cleanup – and lots of fun!
You Bring	Volunteers should wear a hat, sneakers or "aqua-shoes”, and bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle. NO BOTTLED WATER IS PROVIDED AT ECOMB'S EVENTS.
Community Service Hours	You will receive 4 community service hours for each event.
